FCC Looking for Autodialer Definition Suggestions After Court Ruling: The Federal Communications Commission announced Monday that the agency is seeking “comment on how to interpret ‘capacity’ in light of the” D.C. Circuit’s decision that ruled the current autodialer definition was too broad. The U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform, along with 17 other business groups, filed a petition on the issue two weeks ago. (Law360)

State Group Calls on N.Y. Government to Act on Lawsuit Lending: The Lawsuit Reform Alliance of New York called on the state’s government to subject “abusive” lawsuit lending contracts “to the same consumer protections as all other lenders.” The group urged action “before more New Yorkers are exploited by these legal loan sharks and become victims — again,” referring to the number of exposés in the New York Post and New York Times on the industry.
